El Ron Prohibido Gran Reserva 15 is a Mexican rum aged according to the Solera method in American oak barrels that have contained wine. With a gourmet and harmonious profile, it seduces with its dominant notes of coffee, pastry vanilla and caramel.
Tasting Notes: Full-bodied and smooth with notes of caramel, dried fruit, roasted nuts and sweet sherry. Finishes with a Long-lasting, warm and silky balance of sweet and spicy nuances.

The first four barrels are filled and macerated in walnut and almond shells along with peach kernels from Zacatecas, Mexico. The rest are filled with guarapo.
The final product is a golden amber rum with a brilliant hue and ochre-toned flashes. This rum has a light-bodied and super-silky character.

At the end of the 18th century, a royal permit was issued for the production of Mexican chiringuito white rum on the grounds that it would be a major source of revenue for the Spanish crown during its war against England. Three centuries following the ban, a royal order issued on 19 March 1796 lifted it and legalised the production, sale and consumption of this spirit. From that time chiringuito was consumed as a remedy to a host of ailments.
